How can we help your business?

If you run a business, then you want accountants who understand you and your business, and can help you minimise tax, prepare and lodge forms on time and give you the right advice when you need it.  As Profit First Professionals we also want your business to make a profit and be cashflow healthy!

We take a team approach to look after each business client, so you have multiple experts who know all about your business and can help give you the best experience.
We offer all the standard services that traditional accountants offer - and we care that your business succeeds.

Are you ready for accountants like us?

Do you know where your business is taking you?

Having a plan for your life can give you clarity on how to set up your business and how you interact with it.

If you don't have a plan, then you may be pulled and pushed in directions that take you away from your main money making activities.

Do you have accurate bookkeeping, and understand the reports that your Xero or MYOB software generates?

We know that bookkeeping is only part of the story of your business - but because it's to do with money and taxes, its an important part.

They say with bookkeeping systems, it's Garbage In, Garbage Out - so having your bookkeeping accurate and done in a timely manner can help you make the correct decisions for your business.

We offer both group training and 1:1 training for Xero and MYOB users.

Do you spend all your time thinking about money and the cash that needs to come into your business so that you can pay wages, bills and taxes?

When you spend all of your time thinking about not having enough money in your business, it takes away from the time that you could spend making more money.

Let's get you set up with some simple structures that will reduce the amount of time you spend worrying about money and then give you freedom to build a better business for yourself.

Do you think your business will survive if sh!t hits the fan and you can’t work for a month?

Knowing about the risks in your business - and putting some risk mitigation plans in place will help your business survive turbulence.

We have experienced hospitalisations and last minute leave requests - and know that having documented procedures, a healthy buffer of funds, and someone who knows what to do will reduce your stress if something goes wrong and you can't work in your business.

Do you minimise taxes and understand when all the forms and payments are due, or do you just wait in fear of the accountant sending your next huge tax bill?

Minimising taxes is good - but we don't offer solutions to this unless you need it - we would rather you keep your money and pay a small amount of tax, than spend all your money and have none left for your long term goals.

We try to communicate your upcoming tax requirements in tax planning meetings, and give you as much time to plan for taxes as you can (as well as having a tax bank account to put the money aside).

At Northwest Accountancy, we focus on 4 key areas to support your business for growth and success.

Strong Structure

- Using the right business type for your family, to create income and share it, to share it, to save tax, and protect existing assets.

- Ensure systems and procedures are in place that help new team members come into your business with ease.

- Make sure your payroll is set up correctly so that there are no issues with obligations, taxes, leave or other staff queries.

- Create a buffer in your business so that you can withstand turbulence — a month of staff illnesses or someone leaving will not devastate your business.

- Grow your business without you having to grow the number of hours you work to make it all happen.

Relevant Reporting

- Learn the skills to do your own bookkeeping quickly and accurately.

- Know which reports to run on a monthly basis and how to read them.

- Navigate your bookkeeping program with ease.

- Outsource your bookkeeping to us.

- Set up your reports so that they are relevant to your business.

- Track key numbers in your business to help increase profits.

- Get payroll reporting sorted quickly at the end of financial year, knowing that it is accurate, with less questions from your staff.

Cashflow Clarity

- Understand your numbers and how much income needs to come in to afford the different payments your business needs to make (it’s not just bills!)

- Set up bank acocunt buckets so that your money has a purpose and can work to reduce the stress about paying bills

- Stop putting money into the business to top-up funds so that you can pay bills.

- Make sure that the business can afford to pay you — the most important person in the business. (Because if you weren’t running the business, would there even be a business?)

Timely
Taxes

- Paying tax is a part of running a business, and there are some taxes you can’t avoid.

- Don’t be scared of tax bills, make sure you plan in advance by putting aside the right amount of money for tax.

- Know which taxes you can minimise or reduce by having clear guidance and information at your fingertips.

- Get a tax planning session, so that you know that the money you have set aside will cover future tax bills.
